Silhouettes are miniature profile portraits, most often black and white. They have been treasured for hundreds of years, and passed through families as memories and heirlooms. They were especially popular in the years before photography. The freehand-cut style (with scissors - without drawing, tracing, or machine) is practiced by only a handful of people around the world. One of these rare artists is Lauren Muney of "Silhouettes by Hand".
