FRIDAY, 5pm-8pm

The Friday night event is here: https://www.arkansasheritage.com/events/2023/04/14/default-calendar/2nd-friday-art-night-april-2023 :

Join us for an evening of jazz—ranging from spirited and high energy to soulful, sultry and smooth—by Stellar Award nominated saxophonist MarQuis Hunt and his band MOOD. Bubba’s Brews of Hot Springs will be serving up #ArkansasMade beers.

Special guest Lauren Muney of Silhouettes by Hand will also be here! Lauren  specializes in presenting “experiential history” and live demonstrations about the traditional, historic trade of silhouette portraiture. In less than two minutes, a silhouette appears—as if by magic—from the paper. But it is not magic—it is the very skilled scissors of a silhouette artist who creates works of art from paper without drawing first! Guests will have the opportunity for their silhouette to be cut on a first come, first serve basis.

SATURDAY 9am - 4pm

Included with purchase of a Historic Grounds Tour ($2.50 for adults, $1.50 for 65+ and $1 for under 18) • FREE for Museum Members

Join us for a whole new season of programming as we celebrate the lives of women in 1848 Arkansas. Our theme, Sisterhood and the Fabric of Society, will last from April to June and will discuss topics from childbirth and maternity to tea party fashion.
In April we’ll look at societal expectations, education opportunities and the work that women were able to do outside of the home. How were the lives of free and enslaved women different? How did women get their own news? And did the early murmurs of women’s suffrage and abolition travel as far as Little Rock?
