Maker Fair (MD)

Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is a FREE all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors.

Silhouettes By Hand will be cutting silhouettes live onsite. You can watch silhouettes being made for free, ask questions and enjoy the centuries-old traditional process. For a small fee you can take your own silhouettes home, of yourself or loved ones! Lauren Muney demonstrates the simple yet in-depth manner which portraits were created before photography.

Lauren’s deft scissoring show the “maker’s” attention to detail and the use of hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, acute observation, and final preparation. Enjoy an experienced artisan creating a participation for the entire community!
